Society for the Advancement of Minorities in STEM

About

SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Native Americans in STEM) is a national organization with over 150 chapters in universities all over the country (as well as a national research conference every year), with the mission of encouraging more diversity within the STEM fields. Our goal is to foster a community of like-minded students, offer career development opportunities, as well as give back to the community through volunteering, and advocate for access to research, graduate school, and involvement in science and STEM.
All students from all majors/disciplines are welcome to join us!

Here are some of the events and workshops we plan to do:

- Workshops on graduate school and summer research programs application process

- Applying for scholarships

- How to get involved in research and find your field of interest

- How to talk/write about your research

- Why you should get involved in research, and/or go to graduate school
